Qfax is a fax over IP gateway that allows your customers to send and receive faxes to anywhere over the internet, with all the benefits of the low call rates enjoyed by VoIP users.
Customers are a assigned a regular fax number (DID number) that can be used from anywhere, as long as the customer's computer is connected to the internet.
Sending Faxes over IP with Qfax
To send a fax using Qfax the customer sends an email containing the fax contents to special email address. PDF attachments can also be sent allowing images or scanned information to be included in the fax. A confirmation email is then sent back to the customer with an activation link. This is to stop other people from abusing the customer's Qfax service. Once confirmed, the fax is then sent as a regular fax to the destination fax machine. The customer's assigned fax number will appear on the fax as the number that the fax was sent from. Customers are billed for any faxes sent at the time of the faxes being sent.
Receiving faxes with Qfax.
People sending faxes to the customer will simply send a fax to the customer's fax number as they would with any other regular fax. The Qfax customer will receive the fax as email, with the contents of the fax attached as an image.
Multiple Fax-out
Qfax customers can send the same fax to multiple destinations simultaneously by attaching a text file containing the destination numbers. When Qfax processes the fax information the text file is parsed and the fax is sent to individual fax numbers in the text file.
